So, it’s the first day of 2018 and I know you’ve received those messages, seen the memes, the snaps and the stories about how people will be changing their outlook on life for the upcoming year…but which side are you on? Are you the “I can’t wait for the New Year, I’m going to start my new diet, go to the gym, read a book a week” type, or the “Well if I’m going to make a change for the better, I'm not going to wait till the New Year I'll do it now" type?
We understand the ‘New Year, New Me’ flex. It’s the 1st of Jan, you’ve just hit the restart button on the year in hopes of achieving great things this year. There's something about the New Year that has you feeling refreshed and energised to do something new and live life to the fullest. We’ve come across some crazy resolutions this year like moving half way across the world to start a new business, and also some fairly standard ones like joining the gym. On the flip side, we understand the “Make the change now, why wait for the New Year” flex. I guess, if you find yourself wanting to do something, what’s the hold-up? Do it now! However, not everyone works like that and that’s cool.
Whichever side you fall on, or even if you consider yourself sitting on the fence, if what you are doing is for the better, then do it…and we encourage you to do it your way. Forget the pressures from friends and family, and do what makes sense to you because that’s what we are all about. As you know, THERUMISRED is all about perspective, culture and individual truth; and if it makes sense for you to start on the 1st of Jan hungover and really tired because you got in at 6:47am after ‘living your best life’ in Libertine or waking up on a sofa because you were a little too LIT at that party you were invited to, or you started your resolutions before the New Year came round then cool, whatever works for you.
We just urge you all to do what works for you because that’s the meaning behind the brand. One thing we can all agree on is this; leave all the negative vibes in 2017, focus on yourself, your goals and pursue them to the highest degree. With that said, we hope you have enjoyed your New Year’s celebrations and we hope 2018 is a year filled with prosperity, growth and happiness for you and all your friends and family.
